February 2, 2022, marks the 100th anniversary of the Shimosuwa-born artist Yutaka Matsuzawa. Matsuzawa's reputation as a leader of 20th-century Japanese contemporary art is growing both in Japan and abroad. In celebration of the 100th anniversary of his birth, a 100th-anniversary website (a.k.a. official fansite) has been launched to learn from Matsuzawa, who lived his life in a positive, "local and global" manner, starting from Suwa. In addition to the exhibition, there will be music and talk events.

Venues: Suwa Lake Museum and Akahiko Memorial Hall, Oyado Maruya Craft Shop and Gallery, Masuya Guesthouse, Sumire Sewing Shop, Ninjinsan, Café Tac, Eric's Kitchen, Umi Coffee & Laundry, Gingetsu, Hidenao Aoki's Residence, and Yumehiro
