In 19th century England, where modernization and industrialization were progressing, William Morris aimed to beautify people's lives with carefully handcrafted everyday items. The Arts and Crafts Movement, which inherited his philosophy, eventually spread to other parts of the world.

This exhibition will present about 150 pieces of furniture, textiles, glassware, jewelry, and other items from this movement.

The Fuchu Art Museum, located in the lush greenery of Fuchu no Mori Park, opened in October 2000 under the theme of "Life and Art: An art museum that reexamines our lives in relation to beauty."

The Fuchu Art Museum is a place where visitors can encounter art through the appreciation of masterpieces and the experience of learning, creating, and presenting. The main activities of the museum are the collection, preservation, and exhibition of artwork and educational activities that only a museum can provide.

The museum building has two floors above ground and one basement floor, and the first floor is open to everyone free of charge and houses an art library, a gallery for citizens to show their work, facilities for education and dissemination, a museum store, and a cafe. The second floor is a relaxing exhibition space where visitors can view exhibitions of the collection from the late Edo period to the present day, as well as a wide variety of special exhibitions.
