Noguchi Tetsuya—This is Not a Samurai

Artists

Tetsuya Noguchi
Noguchi Tetsuya is a contemporary artist who questions contemporariness and humanity with armor and human beings as his themes. His figures exquisitely enwrapped in armor could be a man at the prime of life asleep and propping himself on his elbow or a youth wearing brand-name shoes. We feel as if we are peeking into a fragment of a global milieu. In this exhibition, a world overflowing with the artist’s curiosity about human beings is introduced through approximately 180 representative examples dating from early on in his career to new works.
