One of the charms of Matsumoto City, which has two national treasures and many registered cultural properties, is its famous architecture. In this art festival, "talented artists will collaborate in more than a dozen famous buildings in Matsumoto, including the national treasure "Former Kaichi School", the nationally registered tangible cultural property "Former Matsumoto Branch of the Daiichi Kangyo Bank" built in the early Showa period, the Nagano Prefecture treasure "Former Nenraiji Bell Tower", and other buildings with nostalgic atmosphere and excellent design. Familiar scenery will be transformed into a special space with the synergy of artwork. More than a dozen exhibiting artists, from young artists active in the world to local heavyweights, will make the most of their architectural spaces.

Shintaro Shiratori, one of Japan's leading advertising photographers and a native of Matsumoto, will use the Shiratori Photo Studio, which features Western-style architecture from the Showa era, as the venue for his exhibition, and the long-established luxury restaurant, Kappo Matsumoto-kan, will be open to the public so that visitors can enjoy the decorative art of Matsumoto-born sculptor Nankai Ota (1888-1959). During the exhibition period, there will be a talk event by the participating artists (details to be determined) to provide an opportunity for citizens to experience art and architecture through interaction.
