Eisaku Ando
The second ‘Collection x Eisaku Ando’ exhibition will feature three works by Mitsuru Hanateva, who lives in Tokyo and commissioned Ando last year: “Nanmu Jigoku Gokuraku Daibosatsu,” “Buddha,” and “Wind. Mitsuru Horide became aware of and interested in Ando through his essay collection “The Air That Comes Down” (1997) and the 28th Hirakushi-Tanaka Prize (2017), and had the opportunity to interact with him, which led him to propose a collaboration with Yuichi Inoue’s calligraphy, which he originally owned.

The three works in this exhibition will be showcased as a collection, which is rare for Ando. His new and recent works will also be exhibited at the same time on the first floor of the gallery.
