Shosuke Osawa and Kakuzo Tatehata

Setagaya Art Museum
Finished

Artists

Shosuke Osawa, Kakuzo Tatehata
Osawa Shosuke (1903-1997) was a Western-style painter, and Tatehata Kakuzo (1919-2006) was a sculptor. Although they were active in different fields, both artists began their careers with representational figuration before moving into abstraction as they explored new forms of expression. This exhibition introduces works by both Osawa and Tatehata, each of whom carved out his own unique abstract world.
