Hideaki Anno
Hideaki Anno’s latest film, “Shin Evangelion the Movie,” for which he served as the director, drew more than 5.69 million viewers and grossed 8.69 billion yen in its 95 days of release, and continues to set records. This exhibition will cover his past work as an animator, as well as his latest work as a director and producer, and delve into the secrets of his creative activities. In addition to valuable original drawings and miniatures from his “anime” and “tokusatsu” works, which were his starting point, the exhibition also includes a vast amount of handwritten notes and illustrations from his amateur days to the present, as well as a wide variety of production materials, from scripts, settings, image sketches, storyboards, layouts, original drawings to miniature sets, all of which are indispensable to the creation of his unique visual images.
