Hisae Maeda has been active in a wide range of fields, including illustrations for books and packages, solo exhibitions, and projects as a member of Kvina and Meme. This exhibition features pencil drawings and watercolors that poetically, and sometimes surreally, reflect the subtleties of the mind that arise in the repetitive activities of daily life, such as various conversations with family and friends, and contemplations that take place in solitary time. The title “Tear-Water Tea” is derived from the work of Arnold Lobel, a beloved picture book author.
