※The exhibition will be open from 6/11.

Realist paintings are currently enjoying a rise in popularity that can be perceived as a new trend. These works are produced carefully over the course of many hours by artists who can only create a select few in a year due to the effort involved. Each minutely detailed painting incorporates the concept that its creator sought to convey, and all of the works bestow a sense of presence that sets them apart from photography or video. This exhibition presents pieces created by major artists in present-day Realist painting taken from the collection at the Hoki Museum- a sanctuary dedicated to this artistic movement.
