Kisho Mukaiyama “22 / 22”

Yutaka Kikutake Gallery
Finished

Artists

Kisho Mukaiyama
These new works were created under the circumstances of COVID-19, where traditional values are forced to change. The titles of the works, for example ’22 Marugafuuga’ evokes the four seasons, while ‘Lusha 30’ refers to the Rohsana Buddha that brings light from the universe. The delicate colors on the canvas not only suggest the richness of the four seasons that weave Japan, but also prays and asks how to restore calmness during the current situation along with an esoteric view of the universe.
