On October 1 of 2020, Nerima Art Museum celebrated the 35th anniversary of its opening.
The museum has a collection of over 2600 pieces of Japanese modern and contemporary art. Every museum’s collection has its own starting point, but the beginnings of this museum’s collection lie in the desire to hold exhibitions.
This exhibition reflects on the museum’s history with exhibition posters of past exhibitions along with a piece of art from each of the museum’s 35 years. The museum’s history can be seen in exhibitions such as the Hirosuke Tasaki in 1985, Tadao Koga in 1988, Gyoji Nomiyama in 1996, Genso Okuda in2002, Shosha Sanbi in 2007, and Kunio Makino in 2013.
