This exhibition includes all of the surviving 250 plaster models created by sculptor Takashi Shimizu Takashi (1897-1981) between the time he went to France in 1923 and 1980, the year before his death. Also included are a wealth of postwar works and materials, including documents, photographs, and publications. A compilation resulting from the joint research project “Takashi Shimizu: Takashi’s Art Education and Musashino Art School,” this exhibition provides a comprehensive introduction to the broad scope of Shimizu’s work and his contributions to society, particularly in art education.
