Tetsugoro Yorozu
Known for his bold approach, Tetsugoro Yorozu (1885-1927) was a distinctive painter who stood out in the Taisho Era (1912-1926), when many interesting artists were emerging in Japan. This retrospective, his largest for twenty years, introduces around 400 works, focusing primarily on his Indian ink paintings that have received little attention to date, in addition to key oil paintings such as “Nude Beauty” and “Leaning Woman.” Enjoy this opportunity to consider his artistic expressions and the relativity of his works to paintings by his contemporaries.

There will be a changeover of selected works mid-way through the exhibition period:
First Part - July 1 - 30
Second Part - August 1 - September 3
