Art Collection + “The work of the late Yukio Fukazawa”

Chiba Prefectural Museum of Art
Finished

Artists

Yukio Fukazawa
The museum introduces an “Art Collection” show presenting pieces from the collection on various themes each season. “Art Collection +,” hosted alongside this, is an exhibition that introduces works from outside of the collection. In this installment, you can see artworks by Yukio Fukazawa, one of Japan’s representative copperplate artists who passed away in January this year, owned by the museum as well as those on loan from Ichihara-shi and Fukuzawa’s family. Showcasing about 50 pieces from the collection, you can follow the transitions in his copperplate print production process: first stage (c.1951-1962) - era of passion “Monochrome works;” second stage (c.1963-1979) - era of rediscovery “Color works;” third stage (1980-) - era of challenges “Multidisciplinary work.”
