At what point in viewing it can you say you’ve “seen” a photograph? Just by glancing at its square frame? Once you’ve absorbed its details? Or, have you seen it once you’ve interpreted in your mind and first said the words, “I’ve seen it.” This show starts with the proposition that it is difficult to really conclusively “see” something, even a photograph. On display are the works of Osamu Kanemura, who has been featured at the Rotterdam Biennale and the “New Photography” exhibition at MoMA.
