Rimpa, a school of art marking its fourth century this year, features gorgeous ornamentation in works of art and craft depicting the changing of the seasons and the beauty of nature in brilliant colors including gold and silver. Found in a wide range of genres, the original artistic expressions of the Rimpa style are a hallmark of Japanese art. This extensive display of works from the museum’s collection offers a look at the beauty of Rimpa loved through the ages.
