Taking a leap further from his last exhibition of charcoal on paper works, here Uchimura takes up gypsum and pigments on canvas woven by his own hand. Weaving the canvas on a loom, he then maintains the texture of the fabric while attempting to find a point at which the paint may join in familiarity with it. In this process he grasps upon the latent landscape within and attempts to harmonize it with the outside world, whilst the very method of producing the canvas emanates from a repetitive and meditative action, all of which becomes condensed into simple square and triangular forms.
