Aya Takano “May All Things Dissolve in the Ocean of Bliss”

Kaikai Kiki Gallery
Finished

Artists

Aya Takano
Centering upon a new 6 meter painting influenced by the disasters of March 11, 2011, this exhibition presents a range of works which showcase the maturation of Aya Takano’s practice since her debut nearly 20 years ago. Although Takano has been actively exhibiting in galleries and museums internationally, this will be Takano’s first solo exhibition in Japan in eight years. In addition to paintings, she will also present a ‘forest’ installation, created in collaboration with flower artist Makoto Azuma, which functions as a meditation on the interconnection between humans and plant life.
