Keiko Kamma
Keiko Kamma presents a new installation continuing on themes related to the Fukushima nuclear plant accident explored in her performances "Agua de Beber" at Shinko Pier Exhibition Hall (special associated program at Yokohama Triennale), "Inter Azioni XXIV" (Festival internazionale di Perfomance Arts, Videoarte e Installazioni in Sardegna, Italy), and other events in 2011.

"The Invisible Realms" reflects a firm grasp of traditional Japanese thinking, which is rooted in the worship of nature with a particular attitude toward water that has significantly informed religious views and aesthetics since ancient times. Kamma encounters a sense of shock at the contamination of water due to the accident and examines the invisible fear of radiation, the ongoing confusion of information, the persistent secrecy of nuclear lobbyists, and obtuse terminology that only heighten fears. Yet rather than a journalistic accusation, her installation is a quietly composed work of art created with an attitude of detachment.
