ベルナール・ビュフェ
The world expressed by Buffet is one of forceful personality, with an essential power of art which links to our emotions. In the post-war era which gave birth to such a tide of artistic movements, Buffet was an exceptional example of an artist who adhered to his own original style. His depictions of the uncertain times following the war have left their impression upon many eyes and hearts, shining with a particular uniqueness even now in our era of diverse values. Viewers here may catch the rich expressions of line and color which move across the canvas, and open up a dialogue with one’s inner world. Marking the 40 year anniversary of the Bernard Buffet Museum and its re-opening after recent renovation this exhibition promises a new encounter with the captivating world of Buffet’s unique expression.
