Greenpig is led by up-and-coming Korean director Hansol Yoon, who uses video and collaborations with other media to search for new artistic forms, viewing the group's activities as a site for contemplating and resisting contemporary civilization.

"Step-Memories - Return of the Oppressed" takes the Korean War as its subject matter and was first performed at Total museum in Seoul in 2010. The audience migrates around and experiences scenes (spaces) made from recreations of participant testimonies, quotes from theoretical literature, and a collage of historical resources, video and music. This engenders a site of "testimony" different to state and ethnic history in its diverse memories of the war. It is a mechanism that invites us towards a present progressive dialogue.

For this Japan production greenpig will include the new participation of Japanese cast members, aiming to create a Tokyo version based on the venue's specific history. This experiment from the terra firma of another land will here in Japan suggest whole new nuances to the question, "Is it possible to talk about such an unprecedented experience, or even its memory?"
