Marc Chagall
Marc Chagall was born into a Jewish family in Vitebsk (present-day Belarus) in 1887. Beginning in the early 20th century he cultivated a close relationship with the artistic avant-garde in Russia. This exhibition draws on the collection of the Centre Pompidou in order to trace the life and work of his incredible artist and locate his place within the larger arc of Russian art history.
