In the history of Japanese ceramics, the later half of the 17th century is marked by the perfection of Kakiemon and Nabeshima, two of the most gorgeous and representative styles of Hizen porcelain. Nabeshima porcelain developed as a example of utmost beauty and refinement, while the Kakiemon style is characterized by vivid colors and charming motifs. This exhibition showcases selected masterpieces of Japanese overglazed porcelain.
