Cups and tools used for Japanese traditional tea ceremony are on display. In addition to tools, this exhibition also puts the spotlight on the boxes used to store bowls and instruments. Even a tiny container is accompanied by a huge box, which hints at the history of how many holders the bowl has been carried around in.
In addition, this exhibition includes all of Ninsei Nonomura's five pieces from the museum collection. He is one of the masters of Kyo-Yaki from the Edo period, known for his usage of multiple colors. He has also created copies of Chinese ceramic works as a way of challenging painting skills, revealing his sophisticated mentality toward craftsmanship.
