Artists

Hisashi Tenmyouya
Hisashi Tenmyouya is an artist that embodies counter culture in the spirit of 'Basara' of the Muromachi Period and 'Kabukimono' of the Edo Period. His style of "Neo Japanese art" portrays traditional Japanese motifs like bike gangs and tattoos by using contemporary materials such as acrylic paints and tracing paper.
This exhibition will include: "Made in Japan", a large work with three samurais in front of the national flag painted by autumn leaves, "Yamagoe Amidazo", a painting of an amida with tattoos, a color version of "Transparent Scrolls" that uses tracing paper to construct a hanging scroll, and more.
