Osaka Takashimaya
Finished
In 1862, Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (Lewis Carroll) impromptuly narrated a tale to Alice Liddell, a friend's daughter, which inspired "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland." By 1864, Carroll presented Alice with a handmade book titled "Alice's Adventures Under Ground" and later approached Alexander MacMillan to publish it with illustrations by John Tenniel. The book was finalized and published in 1865. This exhibition will feature original illustrations, printing plates, and rare materials, marking the debut in Japan of this public display from the MacMillan archive.
