Nihon Bijutsuin was founded in 1898 by Tenshin Okakura to create a new era of Nihonga. Artists like Taikan Yokoyama, Kanzan Shimomura, and Shunso Hishida joined and experimented with innovative techniques. Though initially unaccepted, the institute was revived in 1914 after Okakura's death, leading to many masterpieces. This exhibition marks 110 years since the revival, featuring works by pioneering artists who shaped Nihonga.
