On September 1, 2023, we marked the centenary of the massacre of Koreans during the Great Kanto Earthquake, an event that claimed the lives of around 360 individuals in Chiba out of more than 6,000 victims. The violence was exacerbated by rumors disseminated via naval wireless telegraph stations.

In response to the "100 Years After the Great Kanto Earthquake, Memories to Pass On" exhibition held in 2023, which overlooked this massacre, Hyakubi+ seeks to address this critical omission. By confronting issues of racism and discrimination through art, the exhibition aims to bring attention to and reflect on these.
