Gucci Ginza Gallery Opens with Yuzuru Hanyu Photography Exhibition

Gucci announced the opening of the Gucci Ginza Gallery, a new space celebrating art, creativity, and cultural collaboration on the upper floor of the Gucci Ginza flagship store in Ginza, Tokyo. The gallery will offer unique experiences and special exhibitions embodying Gucci's core values of craftsmanship and innovation and foster connections between domestic and international artists and creators.

The gallery's first exhibition, YUZURU HANYU: A JOURNEY BEYOND DREAMS featured by ELLE, will be dedicated to the figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu. The exhibition, which will showcase Hanyu's extraordinary talent from a new perspective, is scheduled to run from June 28 through August 20.

Yuzuru Hanyu began skating at the age of four and has continuously evolved throughout his career. A year after announcing his retirement from competition and transition to professional skating in July 2022, he challenged himself to do a fashion portrait for the August issue of ELLE JAPON. The exhibition will feature images from the magazine, shot by TAKAY, a world-renowned photographer based in Tokyo and New York, and a series of exclusive pieces featuring Hanyu's expressions, presented only at the Gucci Ginza Gallery.
