The results are in! The more than 15 submissions were all unique in their vision of Tokyo. However, in the end, only 5 prizes were up for grabs.
The winning haikus were selected for their originality and theme, more than their mastering of the composition rules.
They did a good job at sharing the density of Tokyo’s streetscape; a city full of cranes, crows, skyscrapers and borderline maniacal trash-sorting habits while highlighting the crimson fall skies and the delicious food.
And the winners are:
Puri, with:
“combustible
or incombustible
that is the question”
Andy‘s:
“Tree black, sky scraping
Skyscraper gawking mocking
Crane perches, waiting”
Kai‘s:
“Crimson twilight skies
Crow perching on the wires
A chilly evening”
K-man, with:
“Squawking ravens eye
Tasty morsels go to waste
As hardhats jog off”
and finally Jesse Ledoux’s:
“food oishii
yet, language muzukashii
excitement ahead”
Congratulations to the winners who will soon receive an email with further details.
This was fun and we are hoping to be able to run more of those giveaways in the future!
Thank you all for participating!
