The World of Masamune Shirow: Ghost in the Shell Creator Exhibition to Be Held in Spring 2025

"The World of Shirow Masamune" exhibition will be held at the Setagaya Literature Museum in the spring of 2025.

The Setagaya Literary Museum will hold The World of Shirow Masamune exhibition in the spring of 2025 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its opening.

Masamune Shirow's works have had an immeasurable influence on subsequent creators of manga, science fiction literature, films, and beyond. With his unique feel for the information of advanced technology, he was amongst the first in the world to imagine an electronic future in the 1980s. Shirow is best known for the cyberpunk manga Ghost in the Shell, which has since been adapted into theatrical films, TV series, and video games.

This large-scale exhibition will feature Shirow's original drawings and explore his worldview, drawing ability, and foresight that have emerged from his work. More details will be announced soon on the official website and social media accounts.

While awaiting the details, explore the Junji Ito exhibition at the Setagaya Literary Museum, which runs until September 1, 2024.
