Horror manga artist Junji Ito depicts a beautiful yet grotesque world. His work has captivated readers both domestically and internationally, engulfing the entire world in a whirlwind of excitement. The first large-scale exhibition of Ito's original drawings, Enchantment, is scheduled to be held at the Setagaya Literary Museum from April 27 to September 1, 2024.
The exhibition will showcase a selection of rare and original hand-drawn illustrations, artworks, and paintings. Starting with his debut work, Tomie, the exhibition will showcase his renowned manga series such as Uzumaki, Lovesickness: Junji Ito Story Collection, and Soichi's Beloved Pet, as well as his original drawings for The Hanging Balloons, Junji Ito's Cat Diary: Yon & Mu, Dissolving Classroom, and more. Furthermore, attention is drawn to the new figure of "Tomie" created by the figure prototype artist Yoshiki Fujimoto.
Enjoy a "shivering" moment in the artistic world of Ito Junji, who skilfully reflects human instinctual fears and aversions, seamlessly navigating between the ordinary and the extraordinary, horror and humor.
