Following the popular show in Korea in 2022, the Accidentally Wes Anderson exhibition is coming to Warehouse Terrada G1 Building in April 2023.
Wes Anderson’s movies are known for their eccentricity, unique narrative style, and unforgettable color pallets and proportions. His 2014 comedy-drama film The Grand Budapest Hotel garnered nine Academy Award nominations and won Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy at the 72nd Golden Globe Awards. But have you ever heard of the Accidentally Wes Anderson (AWA) Instagram account and community?
Founded in the summer of 2017 in a small apartment in Brooklyn, New York, by Wally Koval and his wife Amanda, the account has inspired a global community of more than one million ‘adventurers.’ Sourcing photographs from people around the globe, it features exciting places, artistic images, and striking landscapes reminiscent of those seen in Wes Anderson films.
With their pleasing symmetry, bold, eye-catching patterns, and colorful pastel tones, the photographs and the stories behind the locations quickly became popular on the platform, bringing the number of followers known as ‘adventurers’ in the AWA community to over 1.72 million.
After the great success in Korea last year, the exhibition is now on its way to Tokyo. Composed to inspire adventures to secret locations around the world, such as Furka Pass in Switzerland or Willemstad in Curaçao, the exhibition features over 300 photographs along with ten keywords related to the journey.
Come and experience the world of Wes Anderson, where the nostalgic and the strange walk side by side!
