There will be 3 biennales in 3 cities, Shanghai, Singapore, and Gwangju in Korea. And all 3 of them start at the beginning of September until mid November.
Their joint press conference for Japanese media was held on the 21st of April by the chief directors of the 3 biennales with A.I.T.‘s cooperation, in the Japan Foundation premises. The full details related to the events are not completely fixed yet, but it is a very interesting trial for biennales to cooperate with each other in an effort to attract more people and attention. Yes, the presence of arts is still very small in many cities compared to other industries. So why don’t they cooperate within the art scenes to promote “Arts”, instead of competing against each other on a small scale?
Singapore Biennale from 4 September to 12 November
Shanghai Biennial from 5 September to 5 November
Gwangju Biennale from 8 September to 11 November
