Makiko Tanaka "sign/kehai"
This event has ended.
At hpgrp Gallery Tokyo
Media: Painting, Drawing, Prints, Art Party
We are pleased to announce the exhibition “sign/kehai”, with new works of Makiko Tanaka, an artist who works actively in a variety of media, such as pencil drawing, watercolor and installation. Although the expression of her imaginative world and emotional portraits are the main concerns of her work, she avoids an easy, facile “expressive style” and any justification of her subjectivity. Her fleeting but considerably detailed drawings symbolize her attempt to seize “the sign of existence=kehai”, and it acts as a conceptual map of herself.
In this exhibition, Tanaka will show prints and oil paintings as well as pencil drawings.
Opening reception: May 9th (Fri) 19:00-21:00
