Hiroo Kikai "Tokyo Dream Narrative"
This event has ended.
At Ginza Nikon Salon
Media: Photography
In the thirty years since the photographer took an interest in this medium, he has been photographing the people he meets in the Asakusa area of Tokyo and photographing street scenes. His portraits are not an attempt to capture an instant in the subjects' facial expressions, but rather to portray the accumulation of time in their lives. His street scenes feature no people - they are distinctive "portraits of locations" imbued with the traces of the people who work there. This exhibition presents works that continue from his 1999 series "Tokyo Labyrinth".
